It doesn't really matter for this sport....

I guess, it doesn't matter whether its ICC or IPL, people really don't care. I was watching the highlights of the recent IPL matches, the crowd is unbelievable. the only thing that matters as always is good entertainment. as long as they are able to provide that, any version of this sport is going to be a success. this is nothing new. its like county cricket in England.

If IPL becomes a hit, which from the initial few matches, looks like it is, will bring in more international players and be a great treat to those millions of cricket watchers, who now have a chance to watch more cricket and can associate themselves to a particular team.

With the teams owned by celebrities, there won't be anything short of media attention and advertisement for this version of cricket.

it remains to be seen how long before the interest starts to wane .. especially with this edition of IPL running for almost 6- 8 weeks, it is going to be tough. Remember ICL's first edition .. it started with such a bang .. and before people could realize there have been 4 such competitions since then.

The key here is the support of the corporates, the moment they feel that enough ROI is not being generated for the amount invested, they will start pulling out.

With Mukesh Ambani, Vijay Mallaya, Shahrukh Khan...as owners of these teams, do you still think they won't get enough ROI...

There is no sport in this ongoing IPL. Its only business.
