99 cents, 1.99, 2.99, 9.99, 99.99, 1099.99., this .99 syndrome is going on very strongly still. gas stations have that 9/10 permanently set up. i can understand for less than $100, but hdtv for 2099.99, that looks gross. may be that gives an option for people who don't want to look like a moron for having overpaid, to say "yeah i bought it for around $2000" and for people who act uptown, to say "its $2100". anyway with taxes in addition it crosses the mark. but no matter how many years this has been there it sure is true that this .99 psychology works!
